ABSTRACT. Results of a 10-year investigation on actinomycetes
from unusual habitats of Yunnan, China, are reported. The
study deals with alkalophilic, acidophilic, thermophilic and
psychrophilic actinomycetes isolated from the different
environments of the region. Strategies for studying
actinomycetes in unusual habitats are discussed.
