Abstract. Fatty acid composition of thirty Nocardia
species and subspecies has been analysed by gas liquid
chromatography and organisms were accordingly divided into two
groups. No mycolic or tuberclostearic acid, were found in a
subgroup of organisms and their taxonomic position is
discussed.
