ABSTRACT.
An investigation was carried out to evaluate the distribution of soil
streptomycetes in different locations in Jordan. Based on sporophore
morphology, 339 strains were identified as Streptomyces and 22 strains as
Streptoverticillium. Cultural and morphological characteristics and
antibiotic activity of the strains are discussed.
