Resumen

Se evaluó el comportamiento en postcosecha de frutos de "pluots" variedad Flavorich. La fruta fue almacenada por 30 y 40 días en frío, incluyendo tratamientos en atmósfera modificada (AM) que permitieron alcanzar distintos niveles de gases. Adicionalmente la fruta fue evaluada después de mantenerla a 20°C, midiéndose firmeza de la pulpa, sólidos solubles, acidez total titulable, color de la pulpa y deshidratación. No se observaron beneficios de los tratamientos de atmósfera modificada, exceptuando reducción de la deshidratación de la fruta. La fruta pudo ser almacenada por 40 días en frío sin manifestaciones aparentes de senescencia, manteniéndose con adecuada firmeza y altos niveles de sólidos solubles. Adicionalmente, la acidez de la fruta es baja y no se observó presencia de desórdenes fisiológicos.

 en Post-harvest Performance of Fruit From a Plum - Apricot Hybrid (Pluot) var. Flavorich and the Effects of a Modified Atmosphere

Abstract

Post-harvest performance of Flavorich pluots was evaluated. The fruit was cold stored for between 30 and 40 days, using modified atmospheric packaging (MAP) treatments, which allowed different levels of gases to be attained. Additionally, fruit was evaluated after maintaining it at 20°C by measuring pulp firmness, soluble solids, titratable acidity, pulp color and water loss. No benefits of using MAP treatments were observed except for reduction of water loss from the fruit. Fruit could be cold stored for as long as 40 days without apparent symptoms of senescence, maintaining adequate firmness and high levels of soluble solids. Additionally, fruit acidity was low, and the presence of physiological disorders was not observed.
