Sur, 55°60' long. Oeste), Argentina, se observaron plantas de filodendro, Philodendron scandens subsp. oxycardium check for this species in other resources , que presentaban manchas foliares.

Macroscopic and microscopic examinations, and isolation of the fungus associated with the symptoms were performed. Based on culture studies , morphometric characteristics and the pathogenicity tests, the fungal agent was identified as Phytophthora capsici Leonian. This is the first report of P. capsici affecting plants of P. scandens subsp. oxycardium in Argentina.
