Gomez, Miguel; Alonso, Mabel & Ramos, Ruben

Abstract

The utilization of immobilized enzymes has opened a new field of application to the industrial use of enzymatic preparations. In this sense, the search of adequate supports has a great importance. The present work deals with a study of the behavior of alumina as a carrier for immobilized enzymes, by the technique of immobilization by adsorption. The grade of fitting of the experimental data, to the theoretical well- known Langmuir's and Freundlich's isotherms, was determined. It was found that the Freundlich's isotherm is the one which better describes the process in the range of the studied concentrations. It was also checked that it is possible the recuperation of the carrier by means of a thermal treatment.
