Abstract

Morphological, meristic and DNA differences have been established in the characterization of various strains of tilapia ( Oreochromis check for this species in other resources ). The present study shows the characterization of the transgenic line of supertilapia IG/03-F70. Morphological and meristic data show a high correlation with the tilapia Oreochromis hornorum check for this species in other resources . The chromosomal number and DNA satellite analysis support the hypothesis that the parents of supertilapias IG/03-F70 progenitors are hybrids of an unknown origen with a high percentage of O. hornorum.

Resumen

En la caracterizacion de varias especies de tilapias Oreochromis check for this species in other resources han sido establecidas sus caracteristicas morfologicas, meristicas y a nivel de ADN. En el presente estudio se muestra la caracterizacion de la linea supertilapias IG/03-F70. Los datos morfologicos y meristicos obtenidos de la linea estudiada muestran una gran similitud con la especie Oreochromis hornorum check for this species in other resources . Los resultados del conteo de cromosomas y el analisis del ADN satelite de la linea IG/03-F70, apoyan la hipotesis de que los progenitores de esta linea son hibridos de origen desconocido con un alto por ciento de O. hornorum.
