Evaluación del sistema diagnóstico AuBioDot anti-HIV 1/2

ABSTRACT
The AuBioDOT anti HIV 1/2 system was evaluated against 444 sera of
HIV-1 and HIV-2 no reactive blood donors, 135 positive to HIV-1 and 9
positive to HIV-2. Using Western blot (DAVIH blot and DAVIH blot II) as the
reference test, the specificity obtained was 98.88 % (97.41 % - 99.50 %; CL
95 %) and the sensitivity was 100 % (97.43 % - 100.00 %). The positive
predictive values were 0.53 % and 85.07 % for HIV infectious prevalence of
0.006 % and 6 % respectivily, and the negative predictive values were 100 %
for both prevalences. Based on both, the obtained results and handling
characteristics, the system is recommended for the screening in
laboratories that process limited numbers of samples as well as for the
diagnosis of HIV infection in different health care levels, especially in
areas with lower laboratory conditions.

RESUMEN
El sistema AuBioDOT anti HIV 1/2 fue evaluado frente a 444 sueros de
donantes de sangre no reactivos al VIH-1 y VIH-2, 135 positivos al VIH-1 y
9 positivos al VIH-2. Usando Western blot (DAVIH blot y DAVIH blot II) como
prueba de referencia, la especificidad obtenida fue del 98,88 % (97,41 % -
99,50 %; LC 95 %) y la sensibilidad del 100 % (97,43 % - 100,00 %). Los
valores predictivos positivos fueron del 0,53 % y 85,07 % para prevalencias
de la infección del VIH de 0,006 % y 6 % respectivamente, y los
valores predictivos negativos fueron del 100 % para ambas prevalencias. Por
los resultados obtenidos en la evaluación y las
características operacionales del sistema se recomienda su uso para
el pesquisaje en laboratorios que procesan cantidades limitadas de muestras
y para el diagnóstico de la infección por VIH en diferentes
niveles de salud, principalmente en áreas con condiciones
mínimas de laboratorio.
