Resumo

Objetivo: Investigar as expectativas de esposas de alcoolistas em diferentes estágios de tratamento no Centro de Atenção Psicossocial Álcool e Drogas (CAPSad) de Petrolina-PE, Brasil. Métodos: Estudo descritivo, de caráter qualitativo, envolvendo 9 mulheres entre 39 e 71 anos que convivem com cônjuges alcoolistas, representando 3 grupos em diferentes tempos de tratamento, cada um deles constituído por 3 esposas. Os dados foram coletados através de entrevista semiestruturada, entre janeiro e março de 2010, sendo submetidos à técnica de análise de conteúdo. Resultados:A análise focalizou a existência de eventuais diferenças nas avaliações que as esposas fizeram sobre as mudanças ocorridas com os maridos nas relações familiares. As expectativas acerca do tratamento no CAPSad foram otimistas nos 3 grupos, emergindo como foco principal a esperança de que o cônjuge deixará de beber. Conclusão: Evidencia-se a credibilidade do CAPSad através das expectativas predominantemente positivas, enfatizando a ideia de que a instituição tem conseguido, apesar das dificuldades, construir, com os seus parceiros envolvidos, profissionais, familiares e comunidade, um coletivo de repercussões positivas em sua dinâmica de trabalho.

 en Expectations expressed by wives of alcoholics in treatment at center of psychosocial attention alcohol and drugs

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the expectations of wives of alcoholics in treatment at different stages of Psychosocial Care Center Alcohol and Drugs (PCCad) Petrolina-PE Brazil. Methods: A descriptive and qualitative study, involving 9 women between 39 and 71 years who live with alcoholics spouses representing 3 groups at different times of treatment, each consisting of three wives. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews between January and March 2010 and submitted to the technique of content analysis. Results:The analysis focused on the existence of any differences in evaluations that wives made about the changes with their husbands in family relationships. Expectations about the treatment PCCad were optimistic in the 3 groups, emerging as main focus the hope that the spouse stops drinking. Conclusion: This study highlights the credibility of PCCad through predominantly positive expectations, emphasizing the idea that the institution has achieved, despite the difficulties, build, with its partners professionals, family and community, a collective positive impact on their working dynamics.
