Se señala por primera vez en Venezuela, la presencia de Coptera haywardiLoiácono parasitando pupas de Anastrepha serpentina check for this species in other resources (Wiedemann) y Anastrepha striata check for this species in other resources Schiner (Diptera: Tephritidae), obtenidas de frutos de caimito, Chrysophyllum cainito check for this species in other resources (L.) (Sapotaceae) y de jobo, Spondias mombin(L.) (Anacardiaceae) respectivamente.

Abstract

García JL, Montilla R. 2001. Coptera haywardi check for this species in other resources Loiácono (Hymenoptera: Diapriidae) a parasitoid of pupae of Anastrepha check for this species in other resources spp. (Diptera: Tephritidae) in Venezuela. Entomotropica 16(3):191-195.

Coptera haywardiLoiácono was discovered in Venezuela attacking pupae of Anastrepha serpentina check for this species in other resources (Wiedemann) and Anastrepha striata check for this species in other resources Schiner (Diptera: Tephritidae) obtained from larvae feeding on caimito fruits Chrysophyllum cainito check for this species in other resources ( L.) (Sapotaceae) and jobo fruits Spondias mombin(L.) (Anacardiaceae) respectively. Under natural conditions the parasitism was 4.6%. In the laboratory this parasitoid was reared on pupae of A. oblicua (Macquart); the life cicle (egg-adult) was 47.0 days in males and 54.3 days in females; under these conditions, the parsitism was 24 %.
