Se registra por primera vez para Colombia el género Boatia check for this species in other resources (Coleoptera: Mordellidae: Mordellini) y la especie Glipodes sericans check for this species in other resources (Melsheimer, 1846) (Coleoptera: Mordellidae: Conaliini), la cual también representa el primer registro de género y tribu para Colombia y de especie para Suramérica. El material procede de áreas naturales protegidas del país.

Abstract

Martínez Claudia. 2001. First record of genera Glipodes check for this species in other resources and Boatia check for this species in other resources (Coleoptera: Mordellidae) for Colombia. Entomotropica 16(3):199-201.

The tumbling flower beetles genus Boatia (Coleoptera: Mordellidae) and the species Glipodes sericans check for this species in other resources (Melsheimer, 1846) (Coleoptera: Mordellidae: Conaliini), are recorded for the first time from Colombia. The tribe Conaliini is recorded for the first time from the country, and the species G. sericans from South America. The beetles were collected in lowland dry and wet forest areas, most of them legally protected.
