Un ejemplar de la especie Gioia bicolor procedente de Jamaica y depositado en la colección de insectos del National Museum of Natural History(NMNH), Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C, presenta malformaciones del tipo sinfisomelia múltiple en antenas y tarsos, de las cuales se ofrecen ilustraciones

One specimen of Gioia bicolor from Jamaica deposited in the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), Smithsonian InstitutionWashington DC, presents malformations known as "multiple symphysomelia" in antennae and tarsi; these are illustrated.
