Patient Communication - Communicating bad news: an approach

Abstract
The available literature on doctor-patient communication of bad news supports the view that patients want more information than they generally receive. Physicians are seen adopting a less professional approach to communication than towards clinical problem-solving. Some strategies for approaching the problems identified are outlined.
