en Synthesis, Characterization and Antifungal Studies of Some Metronidazole Complexes
Obaleye, J.A. & Lawal, A.

Abstract

Some transition metal complexes of metronidazole (met) have been prepared from the metal halide salt and the ligand at mole ratio 1:2. These complexes have been characterized by vibrational, electronics, HNMR and Atomic absorption spectroscopy. The antifungal activities of the ligand and its complexes are also described. The analysis of the spectroscopic data suggests that the ligand is bidentate in its mode of coordination and the structure of the complex is four coordinate.
