The effects of diet preparation of
Telfaria occidentalis
on some haematological indices were carried out on male albino rats. The animals were fed for 4 weeks on diets specially composed to contain 25%, 50% and 57% by weight of the leaf of
Telfaria occidentalis . The diet preparations produced a dose-dependent increases in all the measured haematological indices (packed cell volume, heamoglobin concentration red and white blood cell counts). The results confirm the claim that
Telfaria occidentalis can be used to cure anaemia.
