 en DENTAL CARE FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES

Abstract

This review article presents a wide aspect of challenges in the dental care of children with special needs. The specific quality of daily work with children with disabilities in a dental office is shown in its first part, indicating differences when compared to the work with healthy children. Six most common diagnoses in children with disabilities are presented in the second part of this article, which underlies specific moments and differences that need to be taken into account when working with children with: cerebral palsy, mental retardation, Down syndrome, autism, hearing - speaking disorders and blindness.
