A propos of a case Rojas, Elirub Abstract Introduction: False tendon (FT) is a thin, fibrous or fibromuscular structure that crosses the ventricular cavity without connection with the valvular apexes. Usually found in the left ventricle and only 4 % in the right ventricle. Could be single or multiple. Objective: To present a case of false ventricular tendon in a patient with a giant cyst of the left ovary, and being an asymptomatic cardiovascular adult. Case: 32-year-old feminine patient diagnosed with a cyst of the left ovary who as part of her preoperative evaluation was subjected to a transthoracic echocardiogram, this showed a band from the free wall of the left ventricle towards the septum internventricular, 2mm thick, crossing the cavity with a systolic-diastolic movement, between the apical and medial thirds of the cavity, which was diagnosed as being a false tendon. Discussion: False tendon have been considered to be an anatomical variant, which in some series has been related to the coexistence of murmurs, alterations of the repolarization, pre-excitation and ventricular arrhythmias, mitral insufficiency and dilatation of the left ventricle. Rojas, Elirub Resumen Introducción: El falso tendón (FT) es una estructura delgada, fibrosa o fibromuscular que atraviesa la cavidad ventricular sin conexión con las cúspides valvulares. Predominante en el ventrículo izquierdo y solo un 4% en el ventrículo derecho. Pueden ser únicos o múltiples Objetivo: Presentar un caso de falso tendón ventricular en paciente con quiste de ovario gigante, asintomática cardiovascular Caso Clínico: Se trata de un paciente femenino de 32 años de edad, con quiste de ovario izquierdo gigante a quien se realiza ecocardiograma transtoracico como parte de su evaluación preoperatoria, observándose banda desde la pared libre del ventrículo izquierdo hacia el septum interventricular de 2mm de espesor, atravesando la cavidad con movimiento sistólico-diastólico, entre el 1/3 apical y 1/3 medio del VI concluyéndose como falso tendón Discusión: El objetivo es describir el FT, que ha sido considerado como una variante anatómica, que en algunas series se ha relacionado con la coexistencia de soplos, alteraciones de repolarizacion, pre-excitación y arritmias ventriculares, insuficiencia mitral y dilatación del VI.
