en Analgesic Effect of Remifentanil versus intravenous Epidural Analgesia with Bupivacaine – Fentanyl – 0,9% NaCl solution during labor
Sequera, Orlando R. & Valle Farfán, Karina del

Abstract

Objectives: to compare the intrapartum analgesia with intravenous remifentanil versus epidural bupivacaine, fentanyl and 0,9% NaCl solution. Methods: descriptive, comparative, non-experimental cutting transversal study. They included 40 patients, ASA I or II classified into two groups: intravenous analgesia (AEV) and epidural analgesia (APER), in the Maternity “Dr. José Maria Vargas” during the period April-August 2014. Results: the pain AEV group was slight in 70%, moderate in 30% of cases. The group of APER reported absence of pain in 50%, mild in 30%, and moderate in 20% of cases. There were no adverse reactions or significant differences in heart rate and intrauterine birth in both groups. Maternal satisfaction was “very satisfied” (55%) and “satisfied” (35%) in APER and AEV groups respectively. Conclusions: intrapartum analgesia in the APER group showed greater efficacy compared to the AEV group.
