La mayor captación se obtuvo en la malla mosquitero encontrándose ocho de las nueve especies identificadas, siendo la mas abundante Ryenella laterales check for this species in other resources , seguida en orden decreciente por Pinctada imbricata check for this species in other resources , Leptopecten bavayi check for this species in other resources , Pinna carnea check for this species in other resources , Lyropecten nodosus check for this species in other resources , Pteria colymbus check for this species in other resources , Argopecten nucleus check for this species in other resources , y Chlamys muscosus check for this species in other resources . En la cuerda de sisal se fijaron cinco de las nueve especies ( Pteria colymbus check for this species in other resources , Pinctada imbricata check for this species in other resources , Leptopecten bavayi check for this species in other resources , Chlamys muscusus check for this species in other resources y Euvola ziczac check for this species in other resources ), seguido por el colector de filamento con solo tres especies (Pinctada imbricada, Chlamys muscosus y en mayor abundancia, Pteria colymbus).

Abstract

With the purpose of evaluating the best collector type for the reception of seed of mollusks, various types of artificial substrata were compared based on the texture: bland (mosquito mesh, black mesh of filament, and sisal strings) and hard (tubes of PVC, and asbestos sheets) and to the color of the mesh (yellow, blue, and green). Two successive bioassays were carried out with a duration of 60 days each one; the different collectors were placed by triplicate in a "Long-line" in the Turpialito bay, Cariaco Gulf. Nine species of bivalve were identified. The major reception was obtained in the collector of the mosquito mesh net with eight of the nine identified species, being the most abundant Ryenella laterales check for this species in other resources , continuing in falling order with Pinctada imbricata check for this species in other resources , Leptopecten bavayi check for this species in other resources , Pinna carnea check for this species in other resources , Lyropecten nodosus check for this species in other resources , Pteria colymbus check for this species in other resources , Argopecten nucleus check for this species in other resources , and Chlamys muscosus check for this species in other resources . In the sisal rope settled five of the nine species ( Pteria colymbus check for this species in other resources , Pinctada imbricata check for this species in other resources , Leptopecten bavayi check for this species in other resources , Chlamys muscusus check for this species in other resources and Euvola ziczac check for this species in other resources ), continued by the filament collector with single three species (Pinctada imbricada, Chlamys muscosus and in more abundance, Pteria colymbus). The solid substrata did not present reception of bivalve. The highest settle of seeds occurred in the green and blue collectors. The best collector type regarding to texture were the soft collectors and especially those with mosquito mesh net, being blue and green color those with most fixation of seeds. It is recommended to carry out studies for more extensive periods, more than one year, to observe with more precision the fixation of the species, and to obtain the periods of most fixations, as well as to test more colors to observe the likeness of fixation of the different species.
