A number of Bioline journals will soon be participating in the Google Scholar Digitization project.
Recently, Bioline International was approached by the staff of the Google Scholar Digitization project. Interested in the back files of Bioline journals, Google Scholar staff asked Bioline to recommend this project to our journals.
At the current time, a number of Bioline International journals have expressed an interest in participating in this project, which will create digital copies of journal back files that are not currently available online. Journals will work directly with Google Scholar, and once online, Bioline will make every effort to link to the back files that have been created. At this stage, many of the journals are currently working with Google Scholar to form agreements, before the digitization of their back files can begin.
This is a fantastic opportunity for many Bioline journals to gain further international exposure. Bioline's limited resources mean that it could be years before Bioline could undertake to digitize these back files. However, with the help of Google Scholar's digitization project, these back files will become readily available to interested users.
You can read more about the Google Scholar Digitization project in the article, Changes at Google Scholar: A Conversation With Anurag Acharya.
We will post an update with a list of what journals are participating in this exciting project as soon as the journal material becomes available.
