After a long time, the dreams of the members of the Indian Society of Oncology have been fulfilled in the form of this issue. The formal tie-up between the two oldest Oncology bodies in the country, the Indian Cancer Society and the Indian Society of Oncology, to jointly produce the journal gives the ISO an indexed journal for its members.

I am sure in the years to come; this will result in a journal of high scientific content read by the practicing Oncology consultants, researchers and medical students in the country and abroad. This journal will give us the opportunity to publish data, both clinical and research material, for the problems commonly seen in this part of the world. This form of educational activity will help to dissipate the knowledge in cancer management and effective evidence based treatment in the country.

I urge each member to actively participate in this collaborative effort by sending high quality articles for publication to fulfill the society′s goals of education and research.
