Indian Journal of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprology, Vol. 69, No. 4, July-August, 2003, pp. 316 Book Review A glance at leprosy R.G. Valia Code Number: dv03048 A Glance at Leprosy 'A glance at leprosy (1991-2001), Part I' is a compilation of abstracts put up in the form of a 'Wall journal', displayed every month in various Indian medical colleges during the years 1991-2001. All this was done to arouse the interest of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in leprosy. This book includes various aspects of leprosy like epidemiology, clinical features, chemotherapy, prevention of disabilities and their management, training of leprosy workers, and leprosy control. The clinical material is accompanied by illustrative diagrams, charts, figures and striking clinical photographs which ave rendered the wall journal very attractive. The language is simple and direct, and conveys the relevant information admirably. Though this volume is not meant to replace a textbook, yet after opening any page, one is enlightened on some aspect of leprosy. Bombay Leprosy Project, led by Dr. R. Ganapati and his team of Dr. V.V.Pai, Dr. C.R.Revankar and others, deserves our appreciation for bringing out this volume. Medical students and practicing dermatologists will benefit by this publication. We shall certainly wait for part II. R.G.
