The Editorial board is overwhelmed with the warm responses received from the Executive Committee and the other members of the IAPS, about the metamorphism in the last 2 issues of the Journal of IAPS in its quality and contents, that have been mailed to them from New Delhi from January 2005. The third issue (July-September) is under publication and the supplementary issue (on Conference abstracts) would be in your hands during the forthcoming IAPSCON-2005 in Bangalore.
The support that the Journal has received from India and overseas is
tremendous. Good original and review articles from the experts known
internationally are being received in sufficient numbers. The Journal
is of course is flooded with case reports and there is long queue for
the same. The reviewers are contributing a lot and going extra mile to
send the articles in record time to avoid delays. All queries from the
authors are attended to on day to day basis. This issue was to have theme
articles on pouch colon. Many centers had even committed to contribute.
However, the editorial board did not receive any article on pouch colon
from any center in India. Needless to say, your constant inputs are mandatory
to keep progressing and bring further improvements in the Journal.
Few members did not receive the journal in time. However, whenever
requested, a duplicate copy was sent and hopefully delivered also. Medknow
Publishers
in Mumbai feel the initial postal failure rate of only about 1% may not be much when you consider the magnitude of the distances and the vagaries of mailing department in India. As the IAPS Directory has now been upgraded in Excel program (though still remains far from dependable to serve as the perfect mailing list), the editorial board and the publishers would not spare efforts to improve upon further on this front. The changes in addresses, if any, become effective only from the next mailing of the Journal.
The Editorial board remains thankful to all of you for your constant
encouragement, feedback and the support. You are requested to send your
latest communicating
address, if you have been facing any problem in this regard to help us
serve you faster.
Any further suggestions and criticism to upgrade the Journal are most
welcome.
