Sir,

Read with deep interest your recent editorial "The old order changes". This was so much in consonance with my own sentiments on e-publications that I felt compelled to express my appreciation of the many issues you have raised.

I have been all too aware of the fact that Indian publications are seldom brought to the attention of our over seas colleagues and our publications are seldom acknowledged in their literature.Your policy on open access articles in full text format on the web will bring instant visibility to many Indian authors. I hope www.bioline.org.br/is and www.indianjsurg.com will be linked to powerful search engines like Google etc.

The importance of linkages to search engines was forcefully brought to my notice with my own open access educational web site catering predominantly to surgical post graduates and serving as the class room page of the Dr. M. G. R. Medical University web site.

You have expressed the sentiment that with this move IJS will become a show case for surgery and surgical research in India. Many of us, I am sure, dream alike and wish that your dream will indeed become a reality.
