Sir,

The above article was published in your journal under Images in surgery and not as a copy of the article published with complete text in the Internet Journal of Otolaryngology which is a non-indexed publication and can be accessed only online. Also the Internet Journal of Otolaryngology allows republication of articles published on it. The article should not be counted as duplicate publication since the article is indexed only once in Indian Journal of Surgery.

Although the internet search engines like Google allow easy access to a large number of articles, the information of whether they are from indexed journals or not is easily ignored as is the case with the authors of this letter to the editor.

We do agree to the error of not having referenced the internet journal article in IJS.

For the benefit of our readers and authors we are publishing a paper on the definitions and problems of redundant publication. Ignorance on the part of the authors can not be considered as a defense.
