Journal of Applied Sciences & Environmental Management, Vol. 7, No. 1, June, 2003, pp. Editorial JASEM introduces Electronic Submission of Research Papers Code Number: ja03011 The Journal of Applied Science and Environmental Management (JASEM) continue to enjoy a reputation as one of the leading scientific peer review journals in Nigeria. This reputation has been built up over our half of a decade of existence through the ability of the journal to evolve to keep with the changing orientation in the international scientific information and scholarly journal publication. To encourage and support the interchange of information, knowledge and opinion between scientists and interested organizations, JASEM has been placed on the website by the International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publication (INASP), Oxford, UK. Papers published in JASEM can now be assessed anywhere in the world by visiting the Journal of Applied Science & Environmental Management home page. The Editorial Board is also making a concerted effort to launch the journal's website in the coming months. Due to our high demand and sustenance on quality, JASEM has remained the only journal in Nigeria that receives scientific research papers from other African countries and the rest of the world for consideration and possible publication. To this effect some notable changes has been effected in the presentation of the Table of Contents by indicating the country of the corresponding author after the names of the author(s). In taking steps toward facilitating seamless international communication to meet the growing demand, the Journal of Applied Sciences and Environmental Management (JASEM) is pleased to introduce electronic submission of manuscripts for authors especially those outside Nigeria. Authors should ensure that Manuscript for electronic submission should be prepared according to the instructions in the Electronic Manuscript Style Preparation. In addition, Electronic Manuscripts should be prepared in appropriate format, according to the instructions given under the "Instructions to Authors" section. Contributors can assess the Instructions to Authors at the African Journal Online (AJOL) website www.ajol/jasem/index or www.inasp.info/index The following indexing and abstracting services for now are covering all articles published in JASEM: BIOSIS ABSTRACTS, CABS ABSTRACTS and AJOL ABSTRACTS /ALERTING SERVICES. This number seems to be few but remember Rome was not built in a day. With your encouragement and support we shall get to the top.
