The Editor,
Africa Journal of Food and Agriculture, Nutrition and Development

Dear Editor,

Congratulations AJFAND!!

We have seen this esteemed journal grow and metamorphose from its previous name AJFNS to its current name, AJFAND, a summary of the enormous positive growth and enhancement that it has undergone.

A major contributory factor to this growth is the unrelenting efforts by the management of AJFAND to advertise, market and expose the journal. A big step in this effort was by the Editor-In-Chief when on a visit to the United States of America, where she donated current issues of the journal to African scientists studying there. That was a fruitful step indeed. For some of us, that was the first time we ever heard of AJFAND, and since then, have read publications covering a broad range of subjects in the published issues.

It is worth mentioning that the growth and sustainability of AJFAND has been possible due to the enormous support by many organizations and agencies acknowledged in each issue of the AJFAND.

The bilingual versions have contributed to a wider audience. Scientists from all over Africa, whether from an English- or a French-speaking country, can publish in the AJFAND. It has thus become the platform for Africans to publish scientific findings on food, nutrition, agriculture and development. In ken of the value of scientific information, it can be said that the birth of AJFAND to Africa was one of the greatest help.

The easy accessibility of AJFAND through the worldwide web has promoted its readability and broadened it audience. AJFAND has therefore become a major source of scientific research information from Africa, both for the world and for African scientists.

Having a students' section in an esteemed journal as AJFAND is a sure opportunity for young African scientist to publish in a peer-reviewed scientific journal, and to inculcate the culture of scientific writing in them for dissemination of scientific information for the betterment and the development of Africa.

AJFAND epitomizes an excellent journal. Never the less, it takes a lot of goodwill, foresight and hard work to establish and publish a journal such as AJFAND in a region such as ours. CONGRATULATIONS!! to the management and workers, especially the Editor-In-Chief, for AJFAND for us.
