Anatomical basis of low back pain and its treatment by rhizolysis
Miralles, R.C.; Carbelledo, J. & Ruiz, A.
Abstract
The authors' approach to the management of low back pain is reported. The relevant anatomy of the nerves and joints is assessed, especially the dorsal ramus of the spinal nerve. The criteria for radiological evaluation of the painful area are described and the use of articular infiltration as a diagnostic tool is recommended. In appropriate cases, rhizolysis may be performed which ca be of considerable benefit. It is a fast, inexpensive and now safe technique. We review 64 cases with a follow up of three years. The good –to –excellent results were 87.8%.
