ABSTRACT. A new species of Saccharomonospora (S.
yangshuoensis) is described. The organism is characterised by
single spores, mainly on the aerial mycelium, and good growth
on ISP 5 with vitamins, but poor growth on the unsupplemented
ISP5 medium. Growth on calcium malate medium produces a deep
brownish pigmentation. The type strain of the species is NA
919594.
