Abstract

With the purpose of evaluating the liveweight variation, liveweight of kids at birth, percentage of abortions in goats under traditional systems of explotation, and supplemented with multinutritionales blocks (MB). 20 to 75 animals were chosen aleatorily at Siquisique farms. It was used a totally randomised design and the data were processed with variance analysis. The experiment was done in four goats farms representing a treatment each one. T1: leaves of grape ( Viti vinifera check for this species in other resources ) 20%, cane bagasse ( Sacharum officinalis check for this species in other resources ) 20%, cement 10%, molasses 38%, grape leaves minerals 8%, urea 4%, cement 10%; T2, substituting half of the cement for lime; T3: mineral + salt (1:25): 90%, cement 10% and T4: control. The liveweight variation of goats, during the last three months of gestation, were significantly (P<0.05) higher than control in 2.5; 2.5 and 2.6 kg for the treatments T1, T2 and T3, respectively. The birthweight of kids showed a tendency to increase (P<0.10) in more than 0.5 kg when the mothers were suplemented with MB. Mineral suplementation increased the weight of the goats, but not the yearlings goats, still when there was a significantly (P<0.01) decrease of abortion rates. The suplementation of MB is a good nutritive alternative to increase the weight of goats and the birthweight of goats kids and to decrease the percentage of abortions of goats maintained under traditional system of explotation.
