Resumen

O objetivo deste trabalho foi comparar a variação do peso vivo e seus componentes, em função do genótipo em cordeiros cruzas Corriedale x Texel e Ideal x Texel. Foram utilizados 24 cordeiros não castrados (13 Ideal x Texel e 11 Corriedale x Texel), mantidos em campo nativo, desmamados com 70 dias e abatidos com idade média de 127 dias. Houve diferença significativa (P<0,05) nos valores relativos (%) de gordura interna entre os genótipos comparados, onde os cordeiros Ideal x Texel apresentaram valores superiores aos Corriedale x Texel. Nos demais componentes do peso vivo não foram verificadas diferenças significativas (P>0,05). Concluise que não há diferenças entre cordeiros cruza Ideal x Texel e Corriedale x Texel para peso ao abate e pesos de carcaça (absolutos ou relativos), verificandose diferenças significativas apenas no percentual de gordura interna, onde os animais Ideal x Texel obtiveram maiores valores.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence genotype of the crosses Texel x Corriedale and Texel x Ideal on live weight gain and its components. Twenty four non castrated lambs were used, 13 Texel x Ideal and 11 Texel x Corriedale, on grazing conditions, weaned at 70 days and sacrificed at 127 days. The sacrifice weight was approximately 28.5 kg and carcass weight was 13.5 kg. Internal fat was higher (P<0.05) on Texel x Corriedale lambs. The other weight components were similar and it was concluded that at sacrifice and carcass weights there are only differences in internal fat between genotypes.
